Tai Chi for heath

Tai Chi is an important element of Traditional Chinese Medicine that seeks to integrate the body, mind and spirit.

It works using techniques such as abdominal breathing, calming the mind, upright posture and soft, gentle, continuous movement to cultivate the life force (Chi) and optimise the flow through the body. Although Tai Chi is a martial art it is now mostly practiced as a wholistic health system.

Tai Chi incorporates Qi Gong (pronounced Chi Gung) which is more static but extremely powerful and therapeutic. Special Tai Chi sets have been developed by Sydney GP and Tai Chi gold medallist Dr Paul Lam. Tai Chi for Arthritis, Tai Chi for Diabetes and Tai Chi for Back Pain are supported by The Arthritis Foundation of Australia and Diabetes Australia.
